Declan de Lacy has been with Horwath Bastow Charleton since 2002. Declan is a Chartered Accountant and a manager in the firm’s Corporate Finance Department, and the firm’s Corporate Recovery and Insolvency Department.
Declan holds a degree in Economics and was appointed a Peace Commissioner by the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform in 2006.
Declan has worked extensively with clients whose circumstances require restructuring of their financial affairs and of their relationship with creditors including banks. Declan has prepared restructuring proposals for numerous clients, who he has represented in negotiations with banks and other creditors, and has assisted with the implementation of changes proposed.
Declan has undertaken insolvency assignments including voluntary and compulsory liquidations, and receiverships. Declan has also undertaken assignments on behalf of lenders involving forensic examinations of borrowers financial affairs and provision of advice regarding the provision of additional financial support.
Declan has a breadth of experience advising clients in the property sector on matters relating to financing, tax efficient structures, and joint ventures. Declan provides ongoing assistance to a number of property developers with strategic planning, administration of their financial affairs, negotiation of finance, and management and appraisal of projects. Declan also provides a broad advisory and administrative service to a number of clients with substantial investment property portfolios.
Declan has significant experience advising individual clients on their long term strategies for wealth creation, management, and retention.
Declan has also advised clients in the hotel, fashion, film and transport sectors in connection with the project appraisal and business financing.
